Parsley Pear Romaine Green Juice

This simple green juice is nourishing, hydrating, and makes the perfect start to any morning or afternoon snack on an empty stomach!

15 min | 2-3 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 heads romaine lettuce - coarsely chopped

  • 1 bunch parsley - stems included

  • 2 pears - coarsely chopped

  • 4 stalks celery - coarsely chopped

  • 1 lemon - rind trimmed off

  • 2 thumb sized pieces fresh ginger - peeled and coarsely chopped

  • 1/2 cup water - if using blender

  • Small handful ice - if using blender; the ice helps keep the juice cold as blenders create heat, which can destroy some of the nutrients in the fruits and vegetables

Preparation

  1. Set aside a large bowl and nut milk bag to strain the green juice (Note: Nut milk bags can easily be found at most grocery stores and if not, they are sold online for very cheap).

  2. To a large blender, add the water, ice, pear, celery, lemon, and ginger. Blend until smooth.

  3. Next, add in the parsley and 1/2 of the romaine lettuce. Blend again until you can again add the remainder of the romaine lettuce.

  4. Pour the juice into the nut milk bag over the large bowl and carefully squeeze out all of the green juice.

  5. Rinse out the blender and pour the green juice back into the blender and serve immediately (Note: Transferring the green juice back into the blender just makes it easier to pour).

  6. Store extras in the fridge for up to 24 hrs. Stir before serving.
