Cacao Hot Chocolate

This simple hot chocolate recipe is rich, decadent, and just sweet enough to curb your sweet tooth! Add an extra dollop of coconut cream as the perfect substitute for marshmallows!

Yields 4 servings | Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) full-fat coconut milk

  • 2 cups water

  • 1/4 cup cacao powder

  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar (1-2 tsp more for extra sweetness)

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Pinch sea salt

  • Optional (for garnish): shaved dark chocolate, extra coconut milk (the cream on top)

Preparation

  1. Place a small pot on medium heat and add all of the ingredients. Whisk until there are no remaining clumps of cacao powder.

  2. Once hot, serve and enjoy!

  3. Feel free to store extras in the fridge for up to 4 days and warm up for future use.
